September 3rd, 2020, AICM Annual General Meeting was held in Shanghai, nearly 50 participants from member companies attended the meeting.
AICM Chairman Jeff Zhu welcomed all the participants to the AICM Annual General Meeting with a review of AICM achievements in last year. Had new 6 members joined, completed internal audit to further strengthened to reflect our highest standard of compliance and operation, was granted as permanent observer of ICCA, signed the updated MOU on regulatory monitoring exchanges with Cefic, launched the first RC Park promotion program in Zhenjiang, organized our signature event, the 11th “Open-to –Public” day, granted Chairman and Merit Responsible Care Award to 21 excellent members from our organization, strengthened our cooperation with CPCIF, by co-organizing the China RC conference, Industry Park Forum, CPCIC and many others conferences and workshops. Then he addressed the achievements so far in 2020, our members donated cash and materials to the pandemic areas mounted to 100 million yuan. AICM also donated masks to our international partners like ACC and Cefic, and was highly appreciated by ICCA. The RC local signing and Open to Public Day were successfully kicked off in July 2020, organized a delegation to visit Hainan Free Trade Zone and had an excellent dialogue with local governors and industry park management. All committees will continue their excellent work in their fields, and accomplish the goals they set.
AICM Executive Director, Beryl Ma delivered the administrative report to all delegates on the Annual General Meeting. 2020 is definitely an unprecedented year for all of us, we’ve tried every best to perform as planned during past months by T-con, survey, webinar, training online during the hard time of epidemic COVID-19, and plenty scheduled activities for the upcoming months will not affect too much with members involvements statistic
During section of AICM Annual General Meeting Committees Report, IPAC Committee Chair Karin Xu, RCC Committee Chair Li Xiao, GIAC Committee Chair Richard Yu, and PRCC Committee Deputy Chair Rachel Wu on Behalf of Chair Susan Jiang made committee's report to all participants, including the major events and abundant activities acquired in 2019, the achievements so far in 2020, and work plan, focus and priorities in late of 2020. IPAC will continue to enhance collaboration with global industry associations and extended dialogues with policy makers to address members’ concerns. RCC sustainability journals as a collection of innovations and contributions made by member companies in achieving SDG, hoping to Bring some enlightenment to peers as well as build up a positive image of chemical industry. GIAC through conference and workshops, AICM summarized the feasible and effective countermeasures suggested by the chemical companies and their stakeholders and other internationally recognized management principles and to build up the contributive role of the chemical industry to China’s economy. 2020 is challenge but also opportunities to us, PRCC’s actively exploring and trying innovative ways to carry out OTP program and increase target audience
On the round table discussion of “Chemical MNCs Path Forward in China”, 18 senior representatives of member companies gave speeches, shared their experience in coping with challenges in the special period and finally agreed on the direction of future development.
At last, Total of 68 Member Company employees have been nominated as "key contributors" in recognition of their great contributions to AICM in 2019. The rewards were awarded by the Board Directors and Advisory board.
