The 2020 annual meeting of the Chemical Environmental Risk Prevention and Control Committee was held in Beijing from November 24th - 27th . This meeting was organized by Chinese Society of Environment, and the Solid Waste and Chemical Management Technology Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. AICM, as the co-organizer was invited to this
annual meeting, Ms. Karin XU, Chairman of AICM IPAC, attended the meeting with many other multinational companies.
This year, with the release of the Environmental Management Registration Measures of New Chemical Substances and the supporting Guidelines for the Environmental Management Registration of New Chemical Substances, this annual meeting has attracted much attention. The annual meeting focused on topics such as chemical environmental safety and risk control, chemical ecological toxicology and exposure assessment. AICM toxicology expert, Dr. Huiting Chen from ExxonMobil gave a report to the conference on the topic of "PBT Properties and Risk Assessment of Chemical Substances".
During the annual meeting, AICM organized a workshop on chemical environmental management of chemical substances regulations with SCC. experts from SCC was invited to discuss major changes in the management of new chemical substances under Order 12 and the requirement under environmental supervision of new chemical substances and discuss hot issues of concern to the industry. More than 100 member representatives also joined the workshop online.
