On December 6-8 2020, duration of two-day’s Green Development Conference of Petroleum and Chemical Industry was successfully held in Haikou. The theme of this conference is green development with low carbon emission; clean production with high efficiency and harmonious coexistence. The conference focuses on leading application technology of green production in chemical industry and sharing and introducing successful practices and experiences of green production. AICM as co-organizer attended this conference.

In the main forum, Mr. Zhou Xueshuang, chief engineer of Ecology and Environment Department in Hainan Province made a welcome speech. Mr. You Yong, deputy chief of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Resource Utilization Department under Ministry of Industry and Information Technology made an opening speech. He pointed out that there’s a series of challenges encountered in the pathway of green development. And currently, high emission and energy consumption are still the feature of chemical industry. The industry shall follow the strategy of “14^th five years plan”, seek the transforming direction of green development in a scientific way and response the national commitment on carbon reduction and neutral positively.

In the morning of December 8, Mr. Xiao Li, Chair of AICM Responsible Care Committee attended the Safety Risk Prevention Sub-form and made a presentation to introduce a mature safety management system and how to minimize the risk.

The conference came to a successful conclusion in a heated discussion and practice sharing. Over 400 leaders from government departments, academicians and experts, representatives from large state-owned enterprises and chemical industry parks, and domestic and foreign enterprises representatives attended.
