On December 18, 2020, the AICM workshop on coatings and VOC regulations was successfully held. This workshop focused on industrial coating and VOC policies and management under the 14th Five-Year Plan. Representatives from 12 member companies attended the workshop. Mr. LI Danhof, co-chair of the Performance Chemicals Subcommittee delivered an opening remark.
Dr. Miao Ning from the
Environmental Planning Institute of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment was
invited to introduce industrial coating VOC regulations and management over the
fourteenth five-year plan period; Dr. Ning gave a detailed interpretation of
key VOC management sectors, key substances to be put under control, and key management
measures. Meanwhile, researcher Zhang Guoning from the Institute of Standards
of the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences was also invited to give a
detailed introduction to the "Volatile Organic Compounds Unorganized
Emission Control Standards" from a practical level, covering the scope and
application of the standard, typical VOCs unorganized emission source control,
and standards implementation and supervision.
Volatile organic compound emission control is still one of the core efforts to prevent and control air pollution during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. AICM will continue to maintain close communication with relevant policy and standard drafting parties, actively contribute to the drafting process with practical experience, and also contribute to building of a scientific, reasonable, and risk prevention and control-based regulations and standard system.
