On December 25, the National Medical Products Administration held a roundtable meeting on cosmetics related regulations with industry associations. Ms. Yan Jiangying, member of the Party Leadership and Deputy Director of the NMPA, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. AICM and more than 10 other industry associations, chambers were invited to the roundtable meeting.

At the meeting, the Cosmetics Supervision Department, NMPA first introduced the regulatory framework and technical pillars of the newly released Regulations on Cosmetics Supervision and Administration, as well as the supervision focus and workplan in the near future following the new regulation. Subsequently, representatives from industry associations presented opinions and suggestions regarding regulatory documents and implementation. Wells XIE from AICM Industry Policy Advocacy made presented recommendations on cosmetics supervision, especially setting a transition period for the submission of cosmetic raw material quality and safety information, and Wells also introduced AICM work plan new year on cosmetics.
The "Regulations on Supervision and Administration of Cosmetics" took effect on January 1, 2021, and the supporting regulations and documents are also in the process of intensive revision. AICM will continue to build a communication platform to make industry contributions to the establishment of a scientific, reasonable, and risk -based regulatory and standard framework.
