Job Description
Job title: Industry Policy Advocacy Committee Manager/Director
Reporting to: Executive Director (operational); Committee Chair (functional)
Annual review will be conducted jointly based on SMART goals scheme

Purpose of the position
Following up industry regulatory updates and advocate on the key issues from members, to promote the positive image of AICM and enhance the influence power
- Follow up industrial regulatory updates and emerging issues
- Advocate on the key issues from members
- Develop annual workshop plan and ensure the implementation
Key responsibilities & duties
l Develop, manage and implement the committee's workshop plan, activities and special projects aligned with the AICM’s business priorities.
l Work closely and coordinate with the Public Relations and Communications Committee and Responsible Care Committee, and Government and Industry Affairs Committee, providing appropriate regulatory counsel, strategy and tactics synergistic with business objectives.
l Follow up actively on industrial regulatory updates and identify the emerging issues related to industrial regulatory affairs, hazardous chemical, environmental management of chemical substances, GHS, cosmetic RM, pharma excipient, and medical devices, toxicology, eco-toxicology and risk assessment, regional regulatory exchanges, etc.
l Advocate cost-effective, science- and risk-based policies on behalf of members, through the development of position papers, survey of key concerns, organization of round-table meetings and workshop on special subjects.
l Collaborate actively with relevant officials, technical experts of several standard committees and global organizations.
l Play an active role in day-to-day management, leadership and motivation of the regulatory affairs’ team, ensuring commitment to produce leading-edge work; manage the team effectively to ensure clear roles and responsibilities, recognise high-performing members and that each individual has specific professional and personal development opportunities.
Academic or trade qualifications
University Graduate or above, major in environment science, chemistry, chemical engineering is preferred
Work experience and skills
At least 5 years of working experience in a related field, willing to travel
Speak, read and write fluent English
Computer literacy
Communication skills, fluency in Mandarin with good writing skills
Commitment to work, attention to detail, initiative, confidentiality, strong coordination and organizational skills, time management, problem solving, team work
