On July 12, 2022, the regulation exchange meeting jointly organized by the International Association of Chemical Manufacturers (AICM) and the American Chemical Association (ACC) was successfully held online. More than 60 representatives from both associations attended the meeting.
The Executive Director, Ms. Beryl Ma delivered the opening speech on behalf of AICM. She shared the latest changes in the structure of AICM and member companies, and reviewed the past cooperation with ACC. Ms. Wang Bing, the Industrial Policy Advocacy Committee (IPAC) Chair of AICM, introduced the overall situation of the IPAC, the responsibilities of each sub committee, and the main achievements and key activities in 2021. Mr. Francisco A. Laguna, Director of Global Regulatory Affairs of ACC, made a brief introduction to ACC and thanked AICM for its support. Later, Ms. Yang Zhuqing, the Hazardous Chemical Safety Management Subcommittee Chair, shared the latest "one enterprise, one code, one product" policy of hazardous chemicals management, and outlined the registration of hazardous chemicals (HCR) and its upgrading platform, as well as the overall generation process of QR code. Finally, Ms. Yang Zhuqing, Ms. Song Qianqian and Ms. Ma Shuxia of Hazardous Chemical Safety Management Subcommittee gave detailed answers to questions from ACC members.
On behalf of the common interests of member companies, AICM has long been committed to building a scientific, reasonable and risk-based chemical regulations and standards system. In this process, through extensive exchanges with policy makers and domestic and foreign industry associations, a good communication mechanism has been established, and the platform has been continuously strengthened and improved.
