In 2023, AICM member companies organized a series of OTP activities in more than 30 cities and regions across the country, attracting more than 1,000 volunteers and more than 30,000 local participants. This has significantly improved the interaction and communication among international chemical enterprises and government departments, chemical parks, and local communities. The OTP has been held for the first time since 2009 and has traveled throughout the country for 15 years, continuously promoting the responsible care advocacy of the chemical industry to the public.

AICM presented awards for outstanding companies in various categories including “Innovative Carbon Neutrality Award”, “Co-development with Community Award”, “Co-growth with Chemical Park Award”, “Illuminate Next Generation Award”, “Happy Family Day Award”. In addition, for the 14 companies that have participated in the OTP activities for at least 10 years, AICM has awarded them with the “AICM OTP 15th Anniversary Outstanding Contribution Award” to recognize their efforts in promoting corporate social responsibility work for chemical enterprises in the Chinese market.

Li Lei, Chairman of AICM, and SABIC Vice President and Regional Head, Greater China said: “Since the birth of the chemical industry, safety has been the top priority of the industry and is also the cornerstone of ‘Responsible Care’. With the development of the times, sustainable development concepts such as carbon neutrality have gradually become an important part of ‘Responsible Care’. In the future, our association will continue to work with member companies to actively implement the advocacy ‘Responsible Care’, and continuously promote industry development.”
